This bill is being introduced to halt the practice of abortions by webcam in Iowa and require abortionists to comply with the Food and Drug Administration's protocol on RU-486.

"This is a money-laundering scheme -- a federally funded 'bag man' will deliver government funds to abortionists," says National Right to Life Legislative Director Douglas Johnson.

When the Democrat party took control as the majority in the State Legislative House, Senate and Governor’s office, all right to life bills were crushed without even the opportunity for debate in committee. However, they were not able to stop pro-life legislators from proposing an amendment to the budget bill.

 

The Democrats are trying to increase the HHS Medicaid Family Planning by 5% in the budget, which is a million dollar increase and the primary income for Planned Parenthood.

Representative Mary Mascher, Human Resources Subcommittee Chairman, refuses to allow HF 231, the Complications Reporting bill out of subcommittee. We anticipate she will do the same to the other life bills. Her reason? She claims it's not needed.

We Disagree!   HF 231 is common sense....and necessary to promote and save life.
